MEAG AG opens with ACURA 85 EL

Interlinking two ACURA 85 machining centres with an EROWA ERD 500 linear pallet magazine

As a full-service provider for machine and system construction, Meag AG stands for consistently high production quality. The company achieves this by regularly investing in its own machinery.

Last year, the Swiss company invested in two identical HEDELIUS 5-axis machining centres from the ACURA 85 series with an EROWA ERD 500 linear pallet magazine, with the aim of being able to supply customers even more efficiently and quickly in the future.

The latest technology in use

Strong milling performance

The ACURA 85 EL enables Meag AG to machine workpieces measuring up to 600 x 500 x 650 mm. In a twin pack, the two high-performance machining centres guarantee a strong milling performance with a high level of process reliability.

STANDBY Magazine

Both machining centres also have a 260-station HSK63 tool magazine. The large number of tool positions is made possible by the additional equipment with two STANDBY Magazines. This reduces the changeover time to just a few seconds.

Main time-parallel tooling

Two storage/retrieval stations and 74 pallet storage locations allow flexible 5-axis machining for high Chipping output. Heavy and large workpieces can be set up via the loading station for simplified main time-parallel tooling.

Side loading flap

As the high-performance machining centre is loaded from the side, the work area remains accessible from the front for set-up and control work. This means that urgent jobs can be interposed at short notice.

Economic advantage

With the shortest tooling times and continuous machining, the system provides Meag AG with measurable added value. Automation with the EROWA ERD 500 linear pallet magazine maximises the capacity utilisation of the machining centres.

With the help of tooling optimisation and automation, you can increase the annual spindle running time of your machining centre. We offer a wide range of technical options to automate a large part of your work steps.

More news

In modern CNC production, no two jobs are the same: Today prismatic 3-axis machining, tomorrow complex 5-axis components and then the machining of shafts, tubes or mouldings. With the FORTE 65 with rotating/swivelling table, HEDELIUS offers a machining centre that adapts quickly and efficiently to changing requirements for maximum productivity and safety.

The GEWO Feinmechanik GmbH & Co. KG relies on the 3-axis machining centre FORTE 85 Single 1620 from HEDELIUS for the production of high-precision components. The decisive factors for the investment were the high machine stability, the large Y travel path and the compact design of the CNC milling machine. In daily use, the FORTE 85 impresses with its precise machining results, high level of user-friendliness and economical production, even with difficult-to-machine materials. GEWO also reports productivity increases of 15 to 20 per cent and emphasises the partnership-based cooperation with HEDELIUS.

With the TILTENTA MILLTURN, HEDELIUS is opening a milling and turning machining centre on the market for the first time that combines both machining steps in one machine, thus enabling a continuous manufacturing process. Instead of having to reclamp workpieces several times or switch between different machines, the entire machining process takes place in one stable clamping, which simplifies processes and reduces sources of error. Find out how the concept works in detail, what possibilities arise in practice and for which applications the MILLTURN is particularly suitable.
